Peru Becomes full WL member

The Peru Lacrosse Association (PLAX) is proud to announce that Peru has officially become a full-voting member of World Lacrosse, the international governing body of the sport.

Peru first joined World Lacrosse in 2012 as an associate member and has since worked tirelessly to grow the game across the country. Achieving full membership in 2019 marked a major milestone, giving Peru a stronger voice in shaping the future of the sport globally.

This recognition highlights the dedication of Peru’s athletes, coaches, and volunteers who have helped introduce lacrosse to new regions, build competitive national teams, and foster a vibrant lacrosse community.

As a full member, Peru Lacrosse will continue to represent the nation proudly on the world stage, competing in both field lacrosse and World Lacrosse Sixes disciplines while advancing the sport at the grassroots level at home.

“This achievement reflects years of hard work and commitment from everyone involved in growing lacrosse in Peru,” said Katherine Loh, President of Peru Lacrosse. “We are honored to stand as a full member of World Lacrosse and look forward to contributing to the sport’s growth throughout the Americas and beyond.”

With this milestone, Peru Lacrosse looks ahead to future international competitions and the ultimate goal of representing the country at the Olympic Games.
