Peru Lacrosse Association received Provisional recognition from the Peru Olympic Committee during a General Assembly of members on October 9, 2025. “This is a very important day for the sport of lacrosse in Peru,” said Dr. Katherine Loh, President of Peru Lacrosse Association. “ I want to thank all the athletes who train so hard to represent Peru: this day is for you and for the sport of lacrosse.”
The process to Olympic recognition started in 2018 when Peru Lacrosse fielded the first Men’s National team to the World Lacrosse Field Championship. Currently ranked 21 in the world, the Men’s Field Lacrosse National team will compete in the Field discipline qualifier in 2026 as well as the Olympic Sixes qualifier in 2026. The Men’s Sixes National team will play in the Pan-American Lacrosse Continental Sixes Cup in Puerto Rico in December of 2025. The Women’s Field Lacrosse National team qualified for the World Lacrosse Championship and will compete in Poland in July of 2026. The Women’s Olympic Sixes National team will compete in the Sixes discipline qualifier in 2026.
Peru Lacrosse Association is a recognized full member of World Lacrosse and the Pan-American Lacrosse Association.
